Community Involvement

I believe in giving back – it was a fundamental principle that I learned from my parents, and I saw it in action in innumerable ways as I was growing up. It was a very strong part of our family and is something I have tried to emulate over the years.

I’m in awe of the groups that I support through my work: Homestretch, the Chesapeake Bay FoundationMedical Missionaries, Women Giving Back, the Fairfax Lions Club, and Mason Neck State Park to name a few. They provide so many services that make our community a better place.

I also like to support businesses that promote sustainability and sustainable products which I’m best able to do through my monthly newsletter quiz. (Submit the form at the bottom of this page if you’d like to get on my mailing list!) They are Trace – the Zero Waste StoreSpoons Kitchen ExchangeEarth HeroEthique, and Kind Laundry. I also hold free shredding events which helps close the loop on paper recycling while helping to provide a free service to the community.

Art has also been a strong influence in my family, and I’ve found an outlet to support the local arts community by partnering with several artists who are affiliated with Arlington Artists Alliance. When the stars line up and schedules align they have provided beautiful artwork to grace the walls of many of my listings. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.

Giving back to the community has always been an important part of my life, and I feel honored that I’m able to support organizations, businesses and individuals alike whenever possible.
